Erection is it a magic or......?
In ancient times a link between erection and magic was assumed because of no knowledge of anatomy the physical mechanics was a mystery.
The phallic symbol can be seen throughout history and all over the world as a mystical icon.
Young boys with lack of education would whisper together about stories they had heard or what they had read in the most complicated technical physiological material.
Ancient Greeks linked the inability to maintain an erect penis with the preoccupation of thoughts or having a sexually unattractive wife. This view is still held by some today.
In the Middle Ages some stated that the heat transmitted from the genital area caused the enlargement.
The observation of the testicles brought the Greeks close to what caused it to become rigid through the raising and lowering of the testicles. The Greeks were the first to come close to discover the mechanics of how it functioned.
By taking a water tube with one end closed they filled it with water and it increased the size and firmness of the tube.
It must be filled with blood to become rigid and must remain so for intercourse to be completed. In the absence of any one of the points below this cannot happen.
It requires the following:-
1 The smooth muscle tissue must be relaxed
2 Erectile chambers must receive unobstructed blood supply
3 Blood storage mechanism to keep the blood until orgasm has taken place.
